BEACH FLAG SYSTEM
Knowing and understanding the meaning of the Flag warning system is very important. See information below, Scroll down!
ALWAYS check and heed the Flag System Warnings. This system is in place for your safety. Please observe and obey the Flag System. Absence of the flag does not constitute safe swimming conditions!
Play it Safe
The beaches within Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Gulf State Park have adopted the following flag system to alert beachgoers of surf conditions. Flags are posted at all public beach areas and conditions are monitored throughout each day. Please remember that the absence of red flags does not assure safe conditions. On Gulf Shores city beaches, it is illegal to enter the water when the double red flag is being flown.
